About Us
Welcome to Wayland Temple Baptist Church
Our journey began in 1902 when a dedicated group of individuals from Zion Baptist Church ventured to establish a congregation in the heart of North-Central Philadelphia. This marked the birth of Wayland Temple Baptist Church, named after the esteemed Reverend Horace B. Wayland, the first pastor of Zion Baptist Church.
Our journey into the present day has seen the tireless efforts of devoted pastors and congregants, and today, under the guidance of our new pastor, Reverend James E. Mack, the journey continues. Join us as we build on our rich history to create a brighter, more vibrant future, grounded in the way of the Lord.
